That our souls are crafted in twos and that they are so intricately designed around one another that,
when pulled apart, pieces cling to each other and strings acting as tethers remain, forever connecting the two.
But whatever or whoever puts us on earth, flings them apart, away from each other
and slides the two connected souls into separate fleshy bodies.
Even as children we feel the absence, the aching.
We wordlessly cry until we are held and protected.
And as we grow older we find words to apply to the absence in ourselves.
We are lonely. We are broken. We are sad.
